A note from the director
The goal of the Stage Door adult choir is to provide a high quality choral experience for its participants. Techniques of choral/vocal sound, blend, tone, tune, expression and balance will be addressed. Participants will be exposed to a wide range of classical, popular, Broadway and contemporary choral music. Performances will be geared to be both musically satisfying and entertaining. The choir is open to anyone who has a love and respect for singing and choral music. A very cursory audition will be expected in order to meet the requirements that participants can match pitch, sing on tune and not have any technical problems that would seriously affect blending with other voices. (This audition can be done one on one if preferred.) About the only expectation of the director outside of those outlined above is that members commit to rehearsals up to and including a particular performance date. More than any other performance art, a choir relies on consistency, stability and interdependence to achieve high levels of expression and balance. This is a very exciting opportunity.
