THE FANTASTICKS

StageDoor Theatre, located in Conifer, Colorado will be conducting open auditions for The Fantastick’s, to be performed on the weekends of October 26th, November 2nd and November 9th. Auditions will take place at the Stage Door Theatre, 25797 Conifer Rd, Conifer, on Monday, August 13th at 6:00 p.m.

There are eight in the cast, El Gallo-a baritone, the narrator and rogue requires some polish and depth. Bellamy and Huckabee-both bari-tenors, two fathers who live side-by-side and spend most of the play either hating or loving each other. They would be comfortable on a vaudeville stage. Matt-a tenor and son of Huckabee, a youngster about to become an adult who is deeply in love with Luisa. Luisa-Soprano and daughter of Bellamy who is totally self absorbed with her own loveliness and deeply infatuated with Matt. (People auditioning for these two previous characters need to be believable as young adolescent adults.) the Mute-a silent accomplice to El Gallo who is the creator and organizer of all the scenes, strong dancing background preferred. And then there is Henry the washed up old Shakespearian actor and his sidekick Mortimer, the Indian (not really) who dies a lot. It is fair to say that these two characters take drama and tragedy to extremes.

"StageDoor Theatre is a community organization that is an outlet for the talents and skills of the community. All work in front of and behind the curtain is done on a volunteer basis."

Directions: StageDoor Theatre is located in the Aspen Park Shopping Center, (near Healthy Pet Supply and Aspen Perk Coffee Shop). From Denver, take Hwy 285 South to Conifer. Travel 1/2 mile past Our Lady of the Pines, and past the New King Soopers, the shopping center is located on the right hand side. From Pine Junction, take Hwy 285 North 1 mile past the Safeway shopping center. The theatre is on the left hand side of the highway.
